Infertility Clinics

Cooper, REACH and ARC Infertility Clinics
By Tom Thornton

Choosing an infertility clinic is one of the hardest decisions you will make in your pursuit of fertility. You do your research, you ask around, but it's so complicated to make a decision! Clearly you will want to achieve a balance between good outcomes and reasonable rates. But you shouldn't always count on pregnancy rates to give you an accurate idea of how good the clinic is because some clinics refuse the more difficult cases and some clinics don't take miscarriages into account in their stats. So check with your clinic about how they put their stats together. It's always good to ask around when you're looking for a fertility clinic and I've written down a number of things I've heard friends discussing that might be good place to start.

There are the ARC infertility clinics, which are all over. By the way, ARC is short for Advanced Reproductive Care. I've heard that they try to be as affordable as they can, and even better, they have refund guarantees if things don't work out. The neat thing about a pay back guarantee is that you have money to try again if things don't work the first time; very helpful considering how costly the procedures are! You can also choose a monthly payment alternative if that suits your pocket better. It truly makes a difference when the staff are friendly and the service is helpful - and I've heard good reports about the ARC clinics!

Have you heard of the REACH infertility clinic in North Carolina? They aren't related to a hospital and they have all their own facilities so your treatment is dealt with efficiently - for example they have dedicated labs so you don't have to wait as long for your test results. I've heard they're one of the finest in the Southeast so it wouldn't hurt to check them out if you're close by.

Oh yes, there's also the Cooper infertility clinic that another buddy of mine was at - I believe its full name is the Cooper Center for In-Vitro Fertilization or something like that. She said they treat all types of infertility and they have a program where you can share your oocytes (immature egg cells) in return for almost free IVF treatment, if you're comfortable with that kind of thing of course.

Obviously these are only the ones I know about - they certainly aren't the only ones! Your doctor is most likely the best person to ask about that manner of thing.

Fertility Centers of Illinois (FCI) has officially launched their egg donor Program, making them the only in house program in Chicago offering third party reproduction options, fertility treatment, fertility counseling and more in one place.

Dr. Jane Nani, Director of the FCI Egg Donor Program, is enthusiastic to provide additional fertility services to couples looking to grow their families. “After working with hundreds of couples, we wanted to offer third party reproductive options which adhere to a higher standard and work in the best interests of the patient. Our program adds a level of comfort and quality never seen before in Illinois,” she states.

Cost and Donor Compensation

Should donors match with intended parents, they are compensated $7,000 - $10,000. All donors receive $50 for passing the first application as well as receiving $250 for completing a day of medical screening. Donors receive full compensation upon completion of their cycle, which typically requires 8 - 12 weeks. Intended parents will have a $13,000 - $16,000 fee which includes the donor prescreening, donor insurance and all other program facets with the exception of legal fees.

Making Fertility Treatment Affordable for Everyone

In an effort to help all patients afford treatment and significantly boost their chance of pregnancy success, Fertility Centers of Illinois (FCI) offers the Attain IVF Refund Program; a unique treatment option designed to increase the odds of a baby for infertility patients by offering an affordable course-of-treatment approach. The program promises patients pursuing a child via egg donation a baby or 100% of their money back.
