Problems That May Lead to Infertility by Donald Ray
Figures show that 1 of every 4 couples has infertility issues. These issues could be anything from the incapacity to become pregnant to being incapable to carry a baby to term. This type of problem can produce a very high level of stress in a relationship which can easily carry over to every other area of life.
What Causes Infertility?
Unfortunately, there is not one clear-cut answer for every couple that must deal with infertility problems. The truth of the matter is there can be any one or multiple catalysts to the infertility problem.
Infections - Infections in the vagina or cervix could cause infertility as these complications may kill the sperm before they are able to get to the ovum in the fallopian tube.
Scar tissue - Current or previous infections may create scar tissue in the pelvis. This scar tissue can also prevent fertilization.
Hormonal imbalances - Hormonal imbalances of different kinds can often reduce the chances of pregnancy. These types of imbalances are often detected by irregular, infrequent or absent menses.
Nutritional deficiency - A poor diet can dramatically reduce the chances of becoming pregnant. In fact, alcholol and caffeine have been known to reduce the possibility of conceiving by fifty percent. Meat and dairy products, as well as the use of tobacco products, are believed to add to infertility problems.
Toxins - Chemicals that people are exposed to on a daily basis have been proven to have unhelpful effects on the reproductive system. The cosmetic industry is full of these agents and they are absorbed into the blood through contact with the skin. These chemicals are very poisonous to the human body. An afternoon at the salon could easily expose a lady to Butalayted Hydroxytoluene (BHT), Isopropyl Alcohol, Hydroxyanisole, EDTA, Polysorbates, Polyvinyl Pyrrolodene (PVP) and Methylene Chloride among many others. All of these are quite toxic to the human body and many to the reproductive system specifically.
Age - Healthy couples under the age of thirty are said to have a 25 to 30 percent chance of conceiving each month, while those that have reached age 35 are said to only have a 10 percent chance each month. While statistics show that the older you are the lower the chances of conceiving, there are many who beat those odds all the time.
This list touches on a number of potential causes of infertility, but is by no means all inclusive. New studies and research are being conducted every day. While every situation is different, there are some steps that can enhance your reproductive system, such as weight, diet, tobacco and alcohol use. Though some issues can only be properly handled by an trained professional take the steps you can to keep your body healthy with the proper diet and exercise. This will benefit you in every area of your life as well as increasing your chances of conceiving and carrying a child full term.
